Religious Organisations in Tablelands

In World War II, light aircraft were impaired to unleash unprecedented death and destruction. Why can’t these aircraft now be worn to bring life and hope during peace time? The vision was simple and wonderfully ambitious: to see isolated communities across the world physically and spiritually transformed in Jesus’ name. What started off as the dream of a couple of Christian air force pilots is now a global movement with around 140 aircraft serving in over 25 countries worldwide. Tens of thousands of secluded communities now have access to health care, education, community development, disaster relief and the Good News of Jesus Christ. As you’ll read below, a lot has happened over the 70 years since AF was formed, but through the change, through all the developments in technology and aviation practices, the heart of AF has stayed the same: sharing God’s love through aviation and technology. Every flight we make continues to bring the transformation envisaged all those years ago.

The AF ministry has been in place for almost 70 years. Mission Aviation Fellowship (AF) is a Christian organization that provides aviation services for people living in remote areas around the world. For over 70 years, AF has been serving remote people by using aircraft to bring in the essentials of life as healthy as medical care, emergency food, and Christian hope. Every three minutes, an AF plane takes off or lands somewhere in the world. AF is serving the Church and communities in distant areas where flying is not a luxury, but a lifeline. He cared for people physically and spiritually, meeting the needs of the surrounding people, regardless of who they were. We yield flights for 2,00 aid, development and mission organizations to enable them to transform lives. For those in secluded or remote communities an AF flight is often the only way to get lifesaving care. Food arrives in time to alleviate hunger, medicines and emergency medical evacuations preserve lives, and goods and supplies improve living conditions. Living in community with the people we serve means that AF staff have an wonderful opportunity to share their lives and their love of Jesus Christ. AF operates in over 25 countries worldwide.
